Subject of the issue

The resize handles are not hidden when not hovering an element in Chrome (141.0.7390.55) and MS Edge (140.0.3485.94)
It works fine for me in Firefox (141.0) where using the dev-tools to enable/disable touch simulation shows/hides the handles as expected, but a colleague of mine has version 143.0.3 installed and the handles are always visible for him too.

Steps to reproduce

Open https://gridstackjs.com/demo/mobile.html in a chromium-based browser - the handles are always visible.

Expected behavior

The handles should only be visible when hovering the element.

are you opening this on a mobile device (or simulating one)? if yes then always showing the resize handles IS THE EXPECTED behavior (there is no hover to click on it otherwise) otherwise this only does on hover on desktop. we all use Chrome so not sure why this woudl be 'new'

No, I am not using a mobile browser. As I said, it happens in multiple browsers, and you can see the behavior in the screenshot I included – all the elements have the handler visible at the same time. That’s on desktop.
I am currently on another machine, running Firefox 143.0.3 (64-Bit), on Windows 11, and I am also seeing all the handlers here. To be clear, this is in desktop mode and with dev tools disabled.
I am not sure why you immediately closed the issue as invalid, especially since kishansinghifs1 just sent a pull request, implying that he could reproduce the issue?
I cannot test his fix right now as I am no longer at work, but I would appreciate it if could reopen the issue or, at least, give me some hints as to what may be broken. (Assuming the pull request does not fix the issue.)

you must have enabled 'touch' mode (as you mention) in dev mode which IS MOBILE (simulation). you need to turn it off and reload to be true desktop.

Here, I attached a video of me refreshing the demo site and testing it.
It works only if I have the dev tools enabled - if they are off, it thinks I am on mobile, which I am decidedly not.
My computer does not have touch screens or anything like it.

you originally didn't say the OS (you mention window 11 just now - what build too - unfortunately I only have windows 10 / mac OS and have never seen this), and no-one has been reporting this even though GS auto-hide hasn't changed in years and win11 has been out for a long time now.

That's why i'm suspicious on the machine type (a latop with touch screen would of course show as 'touch' enabled.

All I can say is that browser has touchmode enable in your desktop, and when you go into dev mode you can turn it on/off and works as expected. I don't see how GS is at fault here. Also the review is counter to what it's trying to solve so I'm confused here. maybe need my morning cofee.

@DoubLL, I see you have several browser extensions enabled. Do you have by accident an user-agent switcher extension enabled? Probably that can case this kind of issues. Last week I also walked into a same sort of issue seeing a mobile website on my desktop because the user-agent switcher had chosen an Android phone.
